When using decals for nails or other surfaces, here are some helpful tips and tricks to ensure a smooth application and long-lasting results:

Materials Needed:

  • Decals
  • Tweezers
  • Top coat (gel or regular)
  • UV/LED Lamp (for gel polish)
  • Lint-free wipes or cloth
  • Small scissors (optional, for trimming decals)

Steps for Applying Decals:

  1. Prep the Surface:

    • Ensure your nails (or other surfaces) are clean, dry, and smooth.
    • Apply a base coat and your desired color if needed. Cure if using gel polish.
  2. Apply a Top Coat and Cure:

    • After applying your base color, apply a layer of top coat.
    • Cure the top coat under a UV/LED lamp if using gel polish. If using regular polish, let it dry completely.
  3. Peel the Decal:

    • Using tweezers, gently peel the decal from the backing sheet. Be careful not to stretch or tear it.
  4. Position the Decal:

    • Place the decal on the desired area using the tweezers.
    • Smooth out any air bubbles by gently pressing down on the decal with a lint-free wipe or your fingertip.
  5. Seal with Top Coat:

    • Apply another layer of top coat over the decal to seal it in place.
    • If using gel polish, cure again under the UV/LED lamp.
  6. Optional - Extra Durability:

    • For extra durability, especially if the decal edges are prone to lifting, apply a second coat of top coat and cure again.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Use Thin Layers: When applying top coats (especially gel), use thin layers to avoid a bulky finish.

  • Avoid Stretching Decals: Be gentle when handling decals. If they stretch, they may not lie flat on the surface.

  • Trim for Precision: If the decal is too large for the area, trim it to fit using small scissors before application.

  • Tackiness for Adhesion: If using gel polish, cure the top coat just enough to leave it slightly tacky (not fully cured) so that the decal adheres more easily.

  • Check for Air Bubbles: Press gently but firmly on the decal to remove any air bubbles before sealing with the top coat.

  • Cure Fully: Ensure that each layer, including the final top coat, is fully cured to prevent any peeling or lifting of the decal.

With these steps and tips, your decals should look professional and last longer!
